Amelia Berman
Director

Amelia is an Employment and Labour attorney and CEDR Accredited Mediator. She specialises in Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court applications and trial work, with particular expertise in strike interdicts and review applications. She represents numerous clients across a number of industries and sectors including financial institutions, energy, infrastructure, mining and commodities, telecommunications, retail and private security. She provides her clients with strategic advice relating to unfair/automatically unfair dismissal disputes, sexual harassment disputes, poor performance management, terminations, retrenchments/restructuring, industrial relations, collective bargaining, recognition of majority unions, transfers and mergers as well as immigration law. She has extensive experience running arbitrations in the CCMA and in many bargaining councils and is particularly skilled at dispute resolution and negotiating/facilitating the settlement of disputes. Amelia’s expertise also includes drafting and reviewing permanent and fixed term employment contracts as well as contracts in respect of a-typical employees and independent contractors.
