I BGI European Continental Conference 2011 - Madrid, Spain

The Spanish capital sees the first European Continental BGI Conference during the 20th and the 21st of October 2011. After 15 years of existence and after the expansion of our international network of lawyers with over 50 offices all over the world, BGI's executive committee decided to replace the Biannual Conference of the last few years, with two Continental Conferences (Europe and America) with the objective of assembling the partners of each continent a second time in the final quarter of each year.

Date 28/10/2011

The first European Continental BGI Conference took place in Madrid. The BGI partners from Spain, Romania, Gibraltar, France, Italy and Morocco gathered on the 21st October in the Occidental Miguel Ángel Hotel for the development of the conferences. After a welcome speech from Mr. Juan Luis Balmaseda de Ahumada y Díez, President of BGI, the new candidates and offices being studied for their possible entry into the network were presented. Later, the analytical development and trafficking of the new BGI website (www.bgi-law.com) and an analysis of the evolution of our social networks, since their introduction at the beginning of the year up to date, were presented. After the morning coffee break, Mr. Juan Luis Balmaseda de Ahumada y Díez presented the new edition of our BGI NEWS to the attendees and Mohamed Oulkhouir, managing partner of Balms & Cruz Morocco and the African Continental Director of BGI, outlined a new questionnaire system for the development of our annual monograph BGI LAW MAGAZINE, which next year will be devoted to renewable energy legislation in the countries where BGI is represented. The new magazine format is divided into chapters, and each partner will develop the specific themes of their country in each of the sections of the publication. In the afternoon, the working session was divided between an address from Javier Lopez, from Franchising House and partner of Balms Catalonia, on the possibility of BGI's specialization in Law Franchise, and a thorough analysis of the group's new Website by the attending members, with the aim of providing solutions to enhance its functionality and design.
